The chances of dogs becoming prone to disease are higher when compared to the humans. They have to be provided with proper care to prevent them from harmful infections and diseases. The common medications for the dogs are

Antibiotics are prescribed to the dogs in case of bacterial infections. The probability of dogs infected with bacterial infections are more. The most commonly prescribed antibiotics are Metronidazole and Doxycycline.

Antiparasite as the name indicates used for the parasite infection of the dogs like roundworms, threadworms and other parasites. The usually allotted medication for this condition by the veterinarians is Ivermectin.

Antifungals are used when there is a overgrowth of yeast in dogs. It occurs due to the humidity and heat which leads to irritation and inflammation. If needed to remove the fungal infection immediately the drug Ketoconazole is prescribed.

Steroids

Nowadays  steroids doesn’t bode well with the people because of its abuse by the athletes and some other people but in case of dogs the steroids like Prednisone are used the alleviate the symptoms of inflammation, cancer and Addison’s disease in dogs when prescribed by the veterinarian suitably.

Pain relievers

Pain relievers are prescribed to do just that, i.e., to relieve pain. The most common pain reliever used is Tramadol. It is used in the case of chronic pain of arthritis and cancer of dogs and they are also used for the post surgery pains. They are used even in case of injuries.
