You can prevent diabetes in cats unless it is due to factors such as breed disposition. Some steps that will help you to prevent diabetes include
- Maintaining ideal body condition– you can get the cat assessed by the veterinarian to check if your cat is about the ideal weight and also has the ideal body mass and fat.
- Feed the cat with high-protein and low-carb diet– The high carbohydrate, low protein diet, especially the dry cat food diets, could make the cat obese and also stress the kidney and urinary tract health.
- Give your cat enough playtime– Playtime will ensure that the cat’s weight is maintained and it is stress-free.
