SEASONAL CHANGES IN DOGS
Dogs are the most innocent, honest and understanding animal on earth. Dogs are considered to be more innocent than human being. Though they can’t speak, they do understand everything. The life span of dog is very less, approx 15 to 16 years. Dog can be a man’s best friend. They perform many roles for human being, such as hunting, protection, assisting police, herding and companionship. Dogs vary in size, shape and color. Dogs possess good senses like of vision, smell, and touch. Dogs are very intelligent animal , they do remember everything taught to them and apply it to solve problems.
SEASONAL EFFECTS:
Like kids, dog’s behaviors also do get effects from seasonal changes. Wind, thunder and heat can change dog’s behavior and mood. Some are scared of winter and thunder, while some can just become depressed. It depends on the dog and how sensitive he is. The owner protects best to their pets. They provide shelter, food, even clothes. Nowadays, owners keep their pets like their own kids. Owner makes their kids wear even t-shirts.
Some dogs have phobia of thunderstorm. Dog who have phobia of thunder give instant response which results in panic, distress and anxiety. Atmospheric changes like wind, rain, thunder and storm are scary for some dogs. The symptoms of affected dogs are:
- Panting
- Excessive salivation
- Appetite loss
- Lowered ears
- Shaking
Rain is also not good for a dog as it can cause discomfort and health issues during rain. A dog should not get wet in rain. It is recommended to wear boots or shoes during rain to protect a dog from mud, water and grass. It will protect dogs from getting insects into their paws. Rain can affect a dog’s physical and psychological health. Dogs can get stress in rain because they can’t go out for a walk or play. It is necessary to keep a dog active inside home during rain.
One can have good bonding with dog. One should be able to understand the meaning and reason behind their common behavior to develop a better relationship with dog.
