Most of us can relate to bringing home a new dog as one of the greatest moment of our life. Everything seems so exciting when this new member enters into your life. However, there rest great risks that should not be ignored ever:
1. Ignoring Regular Deworming- Prevention is better than cure in humans; it goes same in the case of your loving pets. Worms are one of the most common health problems in both cats and dogs. Sometimes a presence of these worms in dogs doesn’t show its adverse symptoms until the infection has developed to an advance stage. They can cause diarrhea and vomiting and can be fatal in the case of heartworms which could even lead to death. It is always advisable to ask your vet about regularly deworming your pet.
2. You skip tick and flea medicine- Flea and ticks and not to be overlooked in pets under any circumstance as they can cause serious illness in pets. Ask your vet about the best anti tick and flea care range for your pet.
3. Not Socializing young pets – It is imperative to for new pet parents to understand that pet’s exposure and more interaction with the new people will be helpful for them to get used to new surroundings and different people. Socializing young pets will help them to get relaxed and minimizes their chances to get overly excited, aggressive and scared. It helps in developing a special bond with you and your puppy. It will not only be a great change in your dog, but it will also help you to socialize and inviting people to your home.
4. Providing too little exercise – Just like humans, pets need regular exercise to stay healthy and active. The Daily requirement of exercise in dogs varies as per their breed, weight or size. However, at least half an hour walk each day is generally recommended by vets.
5. Providing too little Attention – Just like children seek attention, so does your pets. They get bored when you don’t pay attention and play with them. They show their boredom through troubles some behavior like Chewing, digging, barking etc. Provide toys to your pet and regularly play innovative and fun game with them.
